How do you use Vauhti wax?
Instructions: Clean the ski base thoroughly with Vauhti Clean&Glide cleaning and maintenance agent. Use solid wax or liquid quick glide suitable for the snow type and humidity as the base wax. Scrape and brush the base wax layer carefully, start with roster or brass brush and polish with nylon brush.
What is the difference between kick wax and glide wax?
Glide wax is selected to minimize sliding friction for both alpine and cross-country skiing. Grip wax (also called “kick wax”) provides on-snow traction for cross-country skiers, as they stride forward using classic technique.
How do you use liquid glide wax?
To apply, spread the liquid on the glide zones of your ski base. Let dry for 10 minutes, then rub your bases with a natural cork. The friction this creates helps get the wax into the pores. As a final step, brush your bases with a nylon brush.
How long does liquid ski wax last?
Vauhti maintains that their liquid glide waxes last at least 40 km. They research and test their products over the long-term at the University of Eastern Finland using World Cup service teams, so they know their stuff.
Do I need glide wax?
You still need to routinely apply glide wax to the ski’s tips and tails. These are the areas on the base of the ski not covered with a scale or textured pattern. Unfortunately, many people never got that memo. So, they’ve been cross-country skiing on skis that have dry, oxidized, and dirt-laden bases for years.
Do you wax skate skis?
Skate skis are easier to wax than classic skis because they don’t have a grip zone under the boot. It’s all smooth waxing from tip to toe. Make sure you have clean skis – if they are dirty clean them off with citrus cleaner before waxing. Wax will fill the groove too, don’t be concerned about that.
Is liquid ski wax any good?
