What is Coban wrap used for?
The cohesive properties allow the wrap to stick to itself but not to other materials or skin. It is supplied in individually packaged sterile rolls. Coban self‑adherent wrap is intended for use as an elastic wrap to provide compression or support, or to secure dressings or devices.
What is a Coban bandage?
Coban is a light weight cohesive elastic which provides controlled, consistent compression and conforms to all body contours. The laminate of nonwoven material and elastic fibers placed lengthwise, provide excellent elasticity. Adheres to itself without the use of pins, clips or tape.
Is Vetrap the same as Coban?
Due to its elastic qualities, coban is often used as a compression bandage. It is used both on humans and animals. For animal use, it is marketed under a variety of trade names such as “Vetrap” by 3M. It is commonly used on horses and other animals because it will not stick to hair so it is easily removed.
Can Coban wraps get wet?
Unless told otherwise by your occupational therapist, you can reuse Coban™ wrap until it gets wet or dirty, or stops sticking to itself.
When should you not use Coban?
Coban 2 Compression System should not be used on patients with an ABI <0.5. Patients with mixed etiology leg ulcers and an ABPI <0.5 and >1.3 should be referred to a vascular specialist for further evaluation and care recommendations.
What is the purpose of Unna boots?
The Unna boot is a compressive dressing used in the treatment of venous stasis ulcers (Fig. 26.12). The gauze is applied wet, similar to a cast, and dries to form a semirigid mold against the skin. Unlike a cast, it allows for unrestricted motion of the ankle joint.

Can you shower with adhesive wrap?
It is OK to bathe after the liquid adhesive has dried. Try not to scrub the site. Doing so may loosen the seal or even remove the adhesive completely. It is also OK to wash the site with soap and water daily to keep the area clean and prevent infection.
